NAIFA-PA maintains and active government relations program. Working with NAIFA, our state chapter maintains an active grassroots and Political Action Committee (PAC) Program as well. Our state lobbying effort is led by our lobbyist, Matt Steck of Greenlee Partners.
NAIFA-PA actively monitors legislation and regulations of interest to our members and maintains relations with the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance and other state agencies. We also interface with our Congressional delegations and members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly on a regular basis.
Most recently we were able to improve the operating environment for consumers and our members by working with other stakeholders to defeat the imposition of the state sales tax on all professional services and to hold in place the state tax deduction for contributions to out-of-state domiciled Section 529 College Savings Plans.
